Automate recurring workbook tasks

A spreadsheet can support reporting, purchasing, customer work or reconciliation. Automation is useful when the input, transformation and expected result are clear. My Google Sheets and Excel work includes scripts, advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts and connections to CRMs, databases and APIs.

Import, reconcile and report on one dataset

We define what each row represents, its identifier, where the data comes from and how each metric is calculated. A first stage might import one dataset, reconcile it against a second source and produce a repeatable summary. Validation should catch missing fields and duplicates before they become a dashboard. Input, intermediate transformations and final output need distinct roles.

In Google Sheets, Apps Script can connect events and external services. For larger transformations, Python processing or a server-side API may make the process easier to operate. The tool follows the task and its limits.

Campaign reporting and inventory

The Mailwizz project joins campaign bounces and registrations into a domain summary. The inventory outline covers stock records, reorder signals and management reports. Both depend on clear field definitions and status rules.

Acceptance includes recalculation, reruns, excluded records and reconciliation with an agreed sample. I check the source data before building the charts. If several teams need independent permissions and operational history, read when to move beyond spreadsheets.
