Concept illustration of the workflow
Keep a familiar interface, connect the process
A team may already use Sheets, Docs, Drive, Gmail, Forms and Calendar every day. The useful next step is often to connect those tools around a defined process: a form creates a record, a document follows agreed data, a calendar event prompts a reminder and the result returns to a shared status.
I work with Google Apps Script and Google APIs for these tasks, and Node.js for server-side integrations. I choose between them based on volume, permissions and execution limits.
Connect one form, template or reminder sequence
We identify the event, source data, responsible people and expected result. A first stage can cover one form-to-record route, one document template or one reminder sequence. It includes field checks, access boundaries and understandable failure status. Scripts and external services need explicit retry and duplicate-handling rules.
Permissions, quotas and repeated events
The onboarding outline combines documents and calendar scheduling; Mailgun automation connects Workspace events with messages. The inventory brief describes a workbook-based operational process.
Acceptance should include valid and incomplete data, repeated events, expired permissions and quota failures. Ownership and support matter after the first successful run. Where the process grows beyond spreadsheet permissions or execution limits, an internal application may be a better next stage.
